The Syrian community in northern France organized a gathering on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the Syrian revolution, in support of Syria’s unity and sovereignty.
According to the French radio station France Info, the gathering took place in front of the Opera House in the city of Lille.
The participants carried banners and chanted slogans calling for the lifting of all sanctions imposed on Syria and for joint efforts to preserve its unity, sovereignty, and independence.
Marwan Al-Dandashi, a member of Lille’s City Council who participated in the demonstration, said: “The main message we want to send is to show that Syria is one and indivisible.”
He also called for more aid to be provided to the Syrian people and for standing by their side.
Many participants in the demonstration emphasized the necessity for Syrians to uphold their unity and to preserve their country’s cohesion, sovereignty, and independence.
