The Constitutional Declaration is due to be handed over to President Ahmad Al-Sharaa tomorrow, according to member of the Committee tasked with drafting the declaration, Dr. Abdul Hamid Al-Awak.
“Al-Thawra” Newspaper reported citing media sources that:
• The Constitutional Declaration in Syria will restrict the possession of weapons to the state.
• The Constitutional Declaration will confirm that the army’s mission is to protect the homeland and maintain civil peace.
• The Constitutional Declaration will define the basic powers of the President of the Republic.
• According to the Constitutional Declaration, the government will not include the position of prime minister and the form of state will be presidential.
• The transitional period will be between 3 and 5 years, according to the Constitutional Declaration.
