Erdogan: We Will Continue to Support Syria’s Transition to Stability

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned every attack targeting the unity, stability and social peace of Syria and all acts of terrorism and intimidation, stressing that his country will never allow maps to be redrawn in Syria.
“The events on the Syrian coast are largely under control with the active intervention of the Syrian government forces, but the situation on the ground is still sensitive,” Erdogan was quoted by the Anadolu news agency as saying at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting at the Presidential Complex in the capital Ankara today.
” We are taking measures to ensure that there is no development against our country and we urge the Syrian authorities to take the necessary steps to calm the atmosphere quickly,” Erdogan added.
The Turkish president welcomed the firm messages of President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, which are characterized by moderation and calm and confirm the government’s determination to punish the outlaws.
Erdogan stressed that those trying to sow discord in Syria will not succeed in their endeavors, noting that his country will continue its support for Syria’s transition to stability
“Anyone who looks at Syria and sees it only  as sects, denominations and ethnicities is trapped in bigotry,” Erdogan continued, noting that Turkey pays no  attention to the ethnic, religious or sectarian affiliation of anyone in the region.
“Those who have been silent for 14 years while innocent children were being killed with barrel bombs and chemical weapons in Syria cannot overstep their limits on us today,” Erdogan said.
