EU Condemns Terrorism and Calls for Respect for Syria’s Sovereignty and Unity

The European Union condemned recent attacks by remnants of the defunct regime in the Syrian coastal region, calling on all parties to respect Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
“The European Union strongly condemns the recent attacks by pro-Assad members on interim government forces in the coastal areas of Syria and all acts of violence against civilians. Civilians must be protected in all circumstances with full respect for international humanitarian law,” the Union spokesman said in a statement today.
“The EU calls on all external actors to fully respect the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria, condemns any attempts to undermine stability prospects for a peaceful transition and respect for all Syrians in their diversity,” the spokesman added.
