President’s Al Shara’a speech on recent events in coastal areas

President Ahmad Al-Sharaa:

What sets us apart from our enemy is our commitment to our principles. The moment we abandon our morals, we become no different from our enemy. The remnants of the fallen regime are seeking to provoke us into overstepping our bounds, hoping to exploit any misstep.

President Ahmad Al-Sharaa: I remind you that God has placed prisoners on the same level as orphans and the needy: “And they give food, despite their love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.” He has placed them in a position deserving of kindness and compassion. Therefore, prisoners should neither be humiliated nor subjected to violence, as this contradicts both God’s command and the laws of our country.

President Ahmad Al-Sharaa: We will continue to pursue the remnants of the fallen regime—those who insist on persisting in their delusion and tyranny, those who have committed crimes against the people, and those seeking to undermine security and civil peace. They will be brought before a fair court. We will continue to ensure that all weapons remain in the hands of the state. There will be no uncontrolled weapons in Syria, by God’s will, and anyone who harms unarmed civilians or punishes groups for the crimes of others will be held strictly accountable.

President Ahmad Al-Sharaa: Our people in the coastal areas affected by the clashes are our responsibility. It is our duty to protect them and save them from the crimes of the fallen regime’s gangs. Despite the betrayal we have faced, the state will remain the guarantor of civil peace and will not allow it to be disturbed under any circumstances.

President Ahmad Al-Sharaa: I call on all forces that have joined the conflict zones to fully comply with the military and security commanders on the ground. All positions must be cleared immediately to prevent ongoing violations, allowing military and security forces to carry out their duties effectively.
