Minister of Agriculture, “Mercy Corps” Organization discuss problems facing Syria’s agricultural sector

Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Muhammad Taha Al-Ahmad discussed with the Regional Director of “Mercy Corps” Organization Matthew Roguet and the Director of the organization’s branch in Damascus Omar Al-Tal the problems facing the agricultural sector.

The ministry explained through its Telegram channel that Roguet reviewed during the meeting one of the programs that help solve the problems of the agricultural sector through using technology.

The program is a “website” that works via satellites, and can determine the physical condition of the soil, and provides accurate analyses including the percentage of salinity, water absorption and plant health.

Roguet also confirmed the organization’s readiness to train cadres on using the program.
