Ramadan Bazaar launched in Tartous with the participation of 63 craftsmen

“Ramadan Bazaar” was launched yesterday at Tartous Grand Hotel with the participation of 63 craftsmen from different trades, in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the organizer Ghaida Khansa, the bazaar, which will continue until the 27th of this month, includes diverse products: popular foods and sweets, gifts, antiques, Ramadan decorations, traditional Ramadan costumes, crochet, natural products and decorative pieces.

Khansa said in a statement that the timing of the bazaar came as people are preparing to receive the holy month of Ramadan, with the aim of supporting and promoting small projects and marketing and selling products that meet the needs of wide segments of society.

Nirouz Yazigi, one of the participants in the handicrafts section indicated the aesthetic culture of Syrian oriental heritage pieces, as she displays works including mosaics, mother-of-pearl inlay, Ramadan abayas, and hand-drawing on glass.

Teacher Rula Mahmoud pointed out that this is her second participation in the bazaar and thanks to it her work has become well-known. Her works include Ramadan sweets made from natural materials. She indicated that the bazaar is a social event to show creative works and an opportunity to market products directly.

Engineer Lama Abdullah displays her handicrafts which are made of crochet such as Ramadan decorations and lanterns, and everything related to the atmosphere of the holy month, while Naya Khayyat considered her first participation in the bazaar as very important to market her products. Her works include “soap, candles, clay and concrete products”.
