Bazaar” Welcome Ramadan” is for gifts decorations of Ramadan

Bazaar welcome Ramadan, was opened at Golden Al-Mezzeh Hotel in Damascus.

The bazaar included traditional crafts and handicrafts, decorative items, cosmetics, cloths, food, sweets, chocolate, accessories, shoes, women bags. Soaps, perfumes, candles etc.

The opening ceremony included included folk dancing (Mawlawiyya), songs, and oriental music from the Syrian heritage.

Mrs. Nancy Ajlani, the organizer of the bazaar told Syria Times:” Our bazaar this month is dedicated to Ramadan items, gifts, and decorations.”

“About 80 men and women participated in the event displaying oriental abayas (robes), handicrafts, candles, perfumes, hijabs, antiques, gifts, woodworks, shells, crochet, wool and distinctive works, most of which are handmade by Syrian women” she said.

Participant, Lujain Shaaban, said that she is specialized in decoupage art products, which is work on wood. We bring an old piece of wood then recycling redesigning it.

She displays lanterns of different sizes and shapes. plates and decorations for Ramadan.

“We have been making these handmade products for many years at home. We participate in bazaars to   acquaint people with our products and to be familiar with others products” she said.

Another participant, Firas Hanna, a chemical engineer, said: “We have been working in this project since 2019. The project is called “Gifts of Nature”.

“We make creams and serums from natural herbs and oils for treating skin diseases and others”.

We participate in many exhibitions and bazaars to make people familiar with our products” he said.

For her part, Ahed Fawakhiri, displayed a prayer set, oriental abayas, handmade accessories.

“We started our project in 2008 and we participate in bazaars and exhibitions to promote our products and sell them directly to people” she said.
