Al-Sheibani: We are working to lift sanctions on Syria and open new investment opportunities

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al-Shibani at the opening of the National Dialogue Conference said: Syria has faced exceptional circumstances over the past years that were not limited to a systematic war created by the former regime.

He added that, despite the challenges and after the liberation, we did not surrender to pressures and worked on openness and effective diplomacy.

Al-Sheibani pointed out that the past stage witnessed Syria’s presence in important international conferences. This constitutes an important step towards restoring its role in the international political arena, Al-Sheibani said.

Al-Sheibani added: We will not accept any infringement on our sovereignty and identity, and we will be keen to build relations with the parties that stood by us, while opening up to those who respect the will of our people.”

He concluded “we are working to lift sanctions on Syria and open new investment opportunities”.
