The Colors of Syria Bazaar was held at the Seven Gates Hotel with the
participation of 180 women who show a variety of artistic and craft works.
The bazaar displays diverse products including embroidery, soaps, food products, glass, crochets products, cloths, bags, shoes, chocolates, sweets, perfumes, cosmetics, children clothes, and accessories.
Mrs. Rana Al-Tabbaa, the manager and organizer of the Colors of Syria Bazaar, told the Syria Times : “We have been holding this bazaar for several years with the participation of a large number of women who produce distinctive handicrafts”.
“The participating women who make their products in their homes do not have another place to display and sell their products, so this bazaar is an opportunity for them to market their handicrafts”. She said.
“This bazaar is devoted to the holy month of Ramadan.It includes decorations, accessories, food products , women’s abayas for the holy month” she added.
Mrs. Jumana Al-Shatta displayed handmade gifts inspired by the Damascene environment.
The gifts are made of wire, paper, wood and wool. She has been making these products for two years now and has participated in the bazaar for 6 times.
Jumana participates in this event to display her products and make people acquainted with of her works.
Fatima is the director of be –yadi (with my hand) Handicrafts Project Center in Ahl al-Sham Initiative Association, (charitable association). She displayed handmade products, prayer clothes, plates and pottery cups.
she said: “The proceeds will go to students and orphans. We have been participating in the bazaar for more than a year and our goal is to sell and promote our products and support orphans and students”.
Another participant, t Reem al-Ayubi displayed crochet works including gifts and bags.
She has been working in this craft since 2008 and participated in several bazaars . she aims of her participation to market her products and to encourage handicrafts.
