Preparatory Committee for the Syrian National Dialogue Conference Holds dialogue Session in Hama

The Preparatory Committee for the Syrian National Dialogue Conference held dialogue session today as part of the national dialogue process in the city of Hama. Representatives of various academic, civil, religious, women’s, youth, and civil society organizations took part in the session.

The session covered several issues and topics, most notably the form of the transitional phase as a fundamental pillar for restoring rights to their rightful owners, holding accountable those who committed crimes against the Syrian people, achieving social reconciliation, drafting a constitution that reflects the aspirations and hopes of Syrians, reforming government institutions and state systems in Syria, discussing freedoms and political life and the role of civil society organizations in establishing the transitional phase.

The head of the Preparatory Committee Maher Alloush emphasized that the proposals and recommendations of the conference should lay the groundwork for a new phase that meets the aspirations and hopes of Syrians from all walks of life.

He pointed out that this phase requires diligent work and practical solutions to build and establish the future of Syria.

Participants in the session presented ideas, particularly regarding the nature and form of authorities, and emphasized the need to involve all segments of society in governance to achieve social and revolutionary justice, restore rights to their owners, and hold accountable those who committed crimes against Syrians.Some attendees questioned the fate of those displaced from their homes and raised concerns about reconstruction. Others called for dissoluting political parties and coalitions that work to undermine and weaken the state.
