Syrian Arab Army Foils Attacks on Safe Areas in Aleppo, Targets Terrorists Outside Damascus, Lattakia and Daraa

PROVINCES, (ST)_Army units have thwarted attacks on safe areas in Aleppo city and pressed ahead with striking foreign-backed terrorist groups outside Damascus, Lattakia, Daraa and Aleppo.

According to the official news agency (SANA), the army units directly hit terrorists that tried to attack safe areas in al-Rashedin, al-Amereyeh, al-Layramon and al-Zahraa in Aleppo city and foiled another attack from the west southern side of Kherbet Ghazaleh town in Daraa province.

Several flashpoint areas in the two provinces [Aleppo and Daraa] and outside Damascus and Lattakia provinces  still witness strikes against terrorist groups that are being inflicted heavy losses.

Concentrated strikes kill foreign mercenaries

Mercenaries of Chechen, Yemeni and Saudi nationalities were eliminated in concentrated strikes on the northern, eastern and southern sides of al-Mliha town in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus.

The mercenaries belong to the so-called the ‘Umahat al-Mo’amenin’ [Mothers of Believers] brigade, the agency’s reporter clarified, adding that more  terrorists from the so-called the ‘Islamic Union’, ‘Ajnad al-Sham’, ‘al-Khattab’ brigade and ‘Seif al-Haq’ brigade were crushed in Wadi Ein Tarma, Jobar, Duma, Erbin areas and on a border area located between the Lebanese Arsal town and Qara town.  

Clashes in Darayya

Meanwhile, there were clashes between the army units and armed terrorist groups on several axes in Darayya city, south-west of the capital [Damascus] where many terrorists perished.

On another front, precisely in the northern countryside of Lattakia, the army units targeted terrorist groupings in towns of Salma, Dorin, Dwerka, Khan l-Joz, al-Kaber, al-Forloq, al-Khadra’a and in the surrounding of al-Samra town.

Many terrorist, some were non-Syrians, died and missiles launchers were destroyed in the said towns, according to a military source.

Later on, the agency reported that an army unit killed and injured many terrorists and wiped out vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns in Bennesh town outside Idleb province.

About 13 gunmen surrender

In another development, a source at Damascus countryside governorate said that 13 gunmen from al-Tal area turned themselves in to the competent authorities under the ongoing national reconciliation.
