French President congratulates President Al-Sharaa on assuming Syria’s presidency

President Ahmed Al -Sharaa received a phone call from his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.

President Macron congratulated President Ahmed Al-Sharaa on assuming Syria’s presidency and the liberation of the country with Syrian efforts from the former regime.

He also expressed his full support for the transitional stage in Syria.

President, Macron also emphasized his country’s efforts to lift sanctions on Syria and to allow growth and recovery.

The two presidents talked about security challenges in Syria, and the need to work jointly to maintain security and stability in the country.

Macron emphasized support for the Syrian political process, and for Syria’s territorial integrity, unity, independence and sovereignty.

In turn, President Al-Sharaa thanked his French counterpart for his phone call, and for France’s positions supporting the Syrian people during the past 14 years.

President Al-Sharaa stressed that Syria will be an active and positive part in the region and the world, and will share security concerns with its partners, pointing out that Syria will focus on its national interests, represented by the stability, sovereignty of Syria and the integrity of its territories.

President Al–Sharaa also talked about the current challenges, which are the economic sanctions imposed on the Syrian people, and the non-completion of the unity of the Syrian territories.

President Al-Sharaa continued by talking about the developmental and national vision pursued by the new administration to ensure the welfare and recovery of Syria and its people urgently.

In conclusion, President Al-Sharaa received an invitation from the French President to visit France in the coming weeks.
