Austrian Churches for Halting support for terrorists in Syria
BEIRUT-VEINNA,(ST)_ Metropolitan of Mexico, Venezuela, Central America and the Caribbean Islands for the Greek- Orthodox Church Anthony Shidrawi stressed the US alliance with terrorism by sending weapons to terrorist groups in Syria.
In a statement he extended yesterday to the U.S. ambassador in Lebanon, David Hill, Metropolitan Shidrawi called on Washington to ” hands off beloved Syria.You are supporting those who do not know the meaning of freedom in Syria, where Christians are being slaughtered, killed and are displaced from their country while you are sending weapons to terrorists under the name of opposition”.
He stressed that the US is responsible for provoking wars everywhere, starting as from Korea through Vietnam, up to Iraq and Afghanistan noting that the ” U.S. ambassador in Lebanon, talked about Ukraine and the need to make a change there, but did not mention that his country was behind these events because of the coup against legitimacy came from outside Ukraine,was supported by the US momentum. “
” Hands off Lebanon, Ukraine and the rest of the countries, which you destroyed starting as from Serbia through Vietnam, up to Libya and Iraq.” Shidrawi concluded, addressing the US ambassador.
For its part,, Greek, Armenian, Coptic, Maronite Catholic Western and Eastern churches in Austria called on the Austrian government and the European Union to stop supporting terrorists in Syria and the Middle East,for the protection of minorities and control extremists and Salafist movements and sleeper cells in Europe.
This came during prayers performed by the said churches yesterday for the release of Bishop John Ibrahim Metropolitan of Aleppo for the Syriac Orthodox church and Bishop Boulos Yazigi Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Aleppo and Iskenderun, who were abducted by armed terrorist groups, financed by the Wahhabi fundamentalist and extremist groups.
The Churches warned against the danger of terrorists on the Austrian and European community and civil peace and amity in Europe and the world.
