Syrian Arab Army Intensifies Operations on Jobar Axis Near Damascus, Eliminates Large Number of Terrorists

PROVINCES,(ST)_A restive quarter near Damascus has seen intensified military operations amid reports of killing a large number of terrorists on several fronts and arresting a terrorist group’s ringleader alongside his gangsters in Hama province.

According to the official news agency (SANA), the army units intensified military operations against terrorist groups in the eastern side of Jobar quarter, few kilometers away from the capital [Damascus], where many terrorists were killed and injured.

More terrorists, mostly of foreign nationalities, were eliminated in the ongoing battle in Eastern Ghouta and in the northeastern countryside of Damascus.

Turkish and Chechen terrorists killed

Turkish and Chechen terrorists were among those killed in al-Mliha farms and EinTarma and near al-Gheda Bridge in the Eastern Ghouta outside Damascus, the agency’s reporter said.

 The reporter added that six terrorists belonging to the so-called the ‘Islamic Front’ near Hajar Bin Adishrine in Adra al-Balad in Damascus countryside, were killed.

While in the northeastern  countryside of Damascus, the army units destroyed a quantity of weapons and munitions and crushed several terrorists to the east of al-Rhibeh town and in Jeroud, al-Zabadani, Khan al-Sheih and Drosha areas.

Several hideouts for terrorists were obliterated in the said areas.

In addition, the army units foiled terrorists’ infiltration attempt from al-Rasheden and Banizied quarters into safe areas in Aleppo.

A large number of terrorists were mowed down in the confrontations and in strikes that targeted terrorist groupings in several areas outside Aleppo, Idleb, Homs, Der Ezzour and Daraa provinces.

Four cars for terrorists plus an arms cache were wiped out in ‘Senama Fouad` street in Der Ezzour province, according to a source at the governorate.

Terrorist group arrested

In Hama province, an army unit stormed a hideout for terrorists in the city and nabbed a terrorist group with its ringleader.

Some eight rifles plus sniper were conficated in the storm, a military source said.

On the other hand, the competent authorities defused five explosive devices- planted in the surrounding of ‘Al-Salam’ Church [Peace Church] in al-Hamedeyeh quarter in the old city of Homs.

Yesterday, it was declared that the old city of Homs became safe and clean from gunmen and arms thanks to the Syrian Arab army.
