Qatar renews its full support for Syria

Qatar renewed its full support for Syria, and welcomed the steps aimed at restructuring the Syrian state and enhancing national consensus and unity, according to a statement by the Qatari Foreign Ministry.

The ministry said that the new steps would pave the way for consolidating security and stability, and building a state of law, institutions, development and prosperity.

The Ministry reiterated Qatar’s effective contribution to all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom, development, prosperity and decent life.

The Ministry indicated that the current critical stage in Syria requires the state to restrict the arms in the hand of one army that represents all components without exclusion, in order to preserve the country’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and in a way that paves the way for a peaceful transfer of power through a comprehensive political process.
