The International Competition of the National Mathematics Olympiad was held yesterday at the Distinction and Creativity Agency via Zoom for four primary education students in mathematics for the adolescent stage, under the supervision of the Ministry of Education.
The competition was held in the presence of the first mathematics supervisors at the Ministry of Education, and with the participation of students from Tunisia, Algeria and Saudi Arabia.
Regarding the importance of this competition, the first supervisor of mathematics at the Ministry of Education, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Qasim, said in a statement to Al-Watan: This participation is an indication that Syria is present and that the Syrian people are talented and creative.
Qassim added: Before liberation, the Olympiads were limited to specific areas, but now, the participation will be expanded to include the entire country and attract all capabilities.
Qassim pointed out that the Ministry of Education adopts the policy of following up on all talented students and those with the ability to participate in any competition.
