Turkish Trade Minister: Syria Reduced Customs Duties on 269 Turkish Goods

Turkish Trade Minister Omar Bulat announced that Syria has decided to reduce customs duties on 269 goods exported by Turkey, including food, iron, steel and hygiene products. Anadolu Agency quoted Bulat as saying in a speech during a ceremony marking the International Customs Day at the Ministry of Trade in Ankara today, “Syria has decided, starting this week, to reduce customs duties on 269 Turkish goods, including chicken eggs, flour, corn, milk, cream, some iron and steel products and cleaning products.

Bulat pointed out that at the beginning of this month, he held a video meeting with the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade in the caretaker government, Basil Abdul Hannan, and that the Turkish Deputy Trade Minister Mustafa Tuzcu held a video call with the head of the General Authority for land and Sea Ports, Qutaiba al-Badawi.

An agreement was reached to reconsider the Syrian customs duties on some goods.
