The first bazaar after victory in Damascus

Celebrating victory and freedom, the mid-term holiday bazaar was held at the Golden Mezzeh Hotel in the center of the capital, Damascus.

The bazaar organizer, Nancy Ajlani, told Syria Times that this is first bazaar after freedom.

“The bazaar which lasted for 3 day displayed handmade products for 90 Syrian women . It included handicrafts and new products such as shell wood pieces, creams and natural perfumes, cloths and epoxy. All of these displayed handmade products are beautiful.

We noticed that there was a great demand for the products ,”she said.

Participant Abou Abdel Rahman, from Lilia Perfumes Company told us that they display the best types of hand-made perfumes that are similar to the originals. “We started our project five months ago and participated in several bazaars. After freedom, the selling of products increased due to the lower prices” he said.

Participant Nour Bitar displayed handmade candles. She started her project a year and a half ago. She also displayed skin and hair products, all made of natural materials. “The selling is going well and people are optimistic” she said.

The young participant Maria Kaftaro, a student at the Faculty of Engineering, displayed handmade accessories, candles and embroidery. Maria started her project 9 months ago and participated in several bazaars.

Engineer Maysa Anka displayed pieces that are a mix of oriental and traditional works with modern touch. Her products are wooden pieces engraved with pearl to reflect our culture.
