Jordanian Civil Aviation: We Expect High Demand for Flights Between Jordan and Syria in the Coming Period
Chairman of the board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority in Jordan, Haitham Mesto said that the authority, is considering a new application from another Jordanian Airline to operate flights to Damascus International Airport, after having allowed Royal Jordanian Airlines to operate its flights previously.
In a statement reported by the Jordanian newspaper Al-Dostour, Mesto predicted a high demand for flights between Jordan and Syria in the coming period, pointing out that there are many requirements and standards that the requesting airline must comply with to conduct its flights to Syria.
Royal Jordanian Airlines announced the resumption of flights to Damascus from January 31.
By next April, Royal Jordanian will be working to increase the operation to daily flights. The 25-minute flight between Amman and Damascus is the shortest by air from Damascus, which provides a quick and easy connection to the Royal Jordanian Airlines of more than 45 destinations.
