Iraqi Foreign Ministry: Stability in Syria Vital for Regional Security

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Fuad Hussein stressed that stability in the security situation in Syria is a vital factor for regional security.

The Alsumaria News website quoted the Iraqi Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement: “The Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out during his meeting with the Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the close connection between the security of Syria and the stability of the region as a whole.”

The Iraqi Foreign Minister stressed the need to adopt dialogue as a basic means to reduce tensions and achieve regional peace.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the latest political developments in the Middle East, highlighting the political developments in Syria.
