Acting Minister of Health Maher Al-Sharaa, today in Damascus, discussed with the Regional Director of the World Health Organization Hanan Al-Balkhi a joint plan to secure as best health services to citizens as possible.
The two sides focused on ways to improve the organization’s work in Syria and on the needs of the health sector.
Al-Sharaa said cooperation is important not only to repair the shortage in equipment, medicines and supplies, but also to develop a roadmap for organized work programs that serve the development of the health sector.
For her part, Al-Balkhi explained the WHO’s plans and stressed the organization’s permanent support for the Syrian Ministry of Health and its efforts to reduce the risks facing public health, and to strengthen the health system by intensifying coordination and mobilizing resources.
