Idlib Electricity Company: We are working to restore electricity to the liberated areas in preparation for the return of residents

Idlib, (ST)- Maintenance workshop teams at the General Electricity Company of Idlib continue to repair electrical failures, extend medium and low voltage lines, and prepare transformation centers to secure electrical power for service facilities in preparation for the return of residents to the countryside of the province.

The company’s director Ibrahim Hamijo confirmed that the company is currently working to provide services yo the areas of the southern Idlib countryside to deliver electricity to the cities of Khan Sheikhoun and Maarat al-Numan, and the towns of al-Tah and al-Tamanah, which were recently liberated from the former regime.

He noted that the company is working according to an emergency plan to secure electrical power for stations and service facilities “water stations, bakeries, and communications”.

Hamijo clarified that the extent of damage to the infrastructure of the electricity networks in Idlib cohntryside is very massive, as a result of the deliberate shelling by the former regime.
