Minister of Economy: Industrialists are partners in shaping Syria’s new industrial map

Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Basil Abdel Aziz Abdel Hanan affirmed that industrialists in Hama Governorate in particular, and in Syria in general, are partners in drawing the vision and shaping Syria’s new industrial map in the next stage.

During a meeting today with representatives of the industrial sector, factory owners and companies, Minister Abdel Hanan pointed out that Hama is distinguished for its important position in various manufacturing industries, especially the food and chemical industries, and for its industrialists who pass many important industries from generation to generation.

The Minister explained the plans of the government and the Ministry of Economy during the coming period to develop the industrial sector, which during the period of the former regime suffered from a lot of corruption to the point of its complete collapse.

This requires the comprehensive restructuring of the industrial sector based on three components: applying the free market policy, preserving the local product and combating the dumping of foreign goods into the markets, he said.
