PROVINCES,(ST)_Foreign-backed terrorists have fired several shells and missiles on urban areas in Damascus, Aleppo and Hama, killing at least eight civilians and wounding more than 67 others, the official news agency (SANA) said on Tuesday.
The agency quoted a police command source as saying that three shells hit al-Najmeh square in the capital [Damascus] where a Lebanese man was martyred and 21 others, including three children, wounded.
One of the shells landed on a house near ‘Dar al-Salam’ School causing fire and a partial collapse of a wall.
Another shell hit the same street as firemen were extinguishing the blaze, leaving the fire engine driver wounded.

Earlier, nine more civilians were wounded when a shell hit a house at the French Hospital junction in al-Qassa’a quarter in Damascus.
The same province witnessed further mortar attacks on the quarters of Mazzeh –Sheikh Saed, al-Mohajeren, and agricultural nurseries – behind al-Mowasa Hospital.
The agency said that a shell made a hole in the dome of Osam Bin Zied mosque in Sheikh Sa’ed area.
Moreover, several shells struck the quarters of al-Jameleyeh and Sa’adallah al-Jaberi square in Aleppo city, killing almost seven civilians and wounding 30 others.
Six other civilians were wounded when shells landed on civilians’ houses in Mhardeh city and Helfaya town in Hama province.
