Damascus, (ST) –  Foreign and Expatriates Minister Bassam Sabbagh today  received Major General Nirmal Thapa, Commander of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) operating in the occupied Syrian Golan, on a farewell visit on the occasion of the end of his mission in Syria.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by Major General Thapa during his term of office, and noted the importance of UNDOF continuing to fulfill its mandate, and the role it plays in monitoring Israeli occupation violations along the separation line in the occupied Syrian Golan.
