Initiatives to support the displaced from Aleppo in various governorates

Damascus(ST)-The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, in cooperation with non-governmental organizations, continues its efforts to support the displaced from Aleppo province, as a result of the attacks and assaults of terrorist organizations, and to provide them with the necessary services by providing food, health and relief aid.

The ministry explained in a post on Facebook that in Tartous province, the initiatives implemented by non-governmental organizations varied to provide the necessary health, food and relief services for families in the temporary residence centers in the Tala’e camp and the Baniyas Refinery chalets, where a comprehensive survey was conducted to monitor the necessary needs of children and the elderly to determine priorities and provide them with the necessary support.

The ministry pointed out that the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor in Lattakia, in cooperation with non-governmental organizations, provided the necessary health and relief services to families in the residence centers in Palm Beach, Al-Basel, the Sports City and Al-Basit Center, and distributed daily meals to displaced families, in addition to distributing health baskets for women.

In Homs, the Ministry indicated that the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, in coordination with the Al-Bir and Social Services Association, implemented several service initiatives to support the displaced people in the shelter centers of “Deir Baalbeh and Al-Bayada,” by distributing comprehensive health baskets to members of the displaced families, including sterilization materials, sanitary tools, and hygiene supplies, which contributes to enhancing health awareness and disease prevention. It indicated that these initiatives are part of ongoing initiatives launched by non-governmental organizations, and organized by the Ministry in response to the increase in the number of displaced people who are suffering from difficult conditions as a result of the current situation in Aleppo Governorate, and specifically aim to provide basic necessities to enhance public health and meet the needs of families, noting that work is ongoing to expand the scope of services provided and meet the full needs of the displaced.
