The Union of Scholars of the Levant Calls for Supporting Syria in Confronting Terrorism and Its Supporters

Damascus (ST) – The Union of Scholars of the Levant, Preachers and Imams of Mosques in Syria called on scholars of the Islamic world and religious institutions in Arab and Islamic countries to support Syria in confronting terrorism, takfirism and its supporters.

During a meeting chaired by the Minister of Endowments Dr. Mohammad Abdul Sattar Al-Sayed at Al-Othman Mosque in Damascus this afternoon, the Union and the imams and preachers of mosques demanded condemning the crimes of the terrorist “Al-Nusra Front” and the extremist terrorist organizations that are spreading corruption, killing, destruction and displacement of the Syrian people, and are exposing the Islamic religion,law, and Arab and Islamic countries to imminent danger.

The participants in the meeting sent messages and invitations to religious institutions and religious scholars in the Arab and Islamic worlds, and to citizens in Syria, based on the reality of the events and the recent terrorist aggression on Syrian cities, and based on the religious, national and moral stance.

The participants stressed that Syria, as a state, army and people, is continuing to fight terrorist organizations with all its strength and determination, and on all its lands, and that confronting terrorism, dismantling its structure and drying up its sources does not serve Syria alone, but rather serves the stability, security and safety of the entire region.

The participants pointed out that everyone is aware of the extent of the Zionist-Turkish-American conspiracy to divide Syria and target it over many years for its principled positions, stressing that the sick Ottoman dreams and ambitions are driving these tools of mercenaries to implement their plans and divide Syria in coordination with the Israeli occupation entity.

The imams and preachers of the mosques paid tribute to the martyrs of the Syrian Arab Army who fenced the country’s borders with their pure blood, united the pains and hopes of the Syrians with their wounds, and formulated with their heroism the greatest meanings of strength and steadfastness.
