Baghaei: Iran has the right to respond to the Zionist aggression that has targeted its sovereignty and territorial integrity

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei stressed that Iran reserves the right to respond to the Zionist entity’s aggression against its national sovereignty and territorial integrity in accordance with the principle of “the right to self-defense” stipulated in the UN Charter and international law.

IRNA quoted Baghaei as saying yesterday: “The allegations contained in part of the statement issued yesterday by the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in Rome against Iran are completely rejected and condemned.”

Baghaei that what was stated in the statement reflects the illegal, unjust and unilateral positions based on discriminatory and coercive tendencies of the G7.
Baghhaei explained that the clear example of the repercussions of this irresponsible position is embodied in the comprehensive support provided by some members of the G7 for the Zionist crimes of genocide and aggression against Gaza and Lebanon.
Baghaei pointed out that the influential members of the Group of Seven, in light of their dual and selective behavior towards various international issues, have severely distorted the principle of the rule of law in international relations.
Baghaei called on the international community to focus on the principles of justice and fairness and respect for human values and international regulations and laws.
Baghaei stressed that the Group of Seven does not represent the international community, and that in light of its selective positions towards the gross violations of human rights in the world, especially in occupied Palestine and Lebanon, it is not at the moral level that allows it to offer advice to others.
