Syrian Presidential Elections A Step Forward To Peace, Stability, Says Sheikholeslam

Syrian presidential elections is a step forward to establishment of peace and stability in the region, Iranian Parliament Speaker‘s Adviser for International Affairs Hossein Sheikholeslam said on Saturday.

Talking to IRNA, he noted that Syrian elections can neutralize enemy’s plots to provoke sectarian violence in the region and help eliminate terrorism and extremism.

The crisis in Syria has no military solution, he said, urging all regional and international powers to help establish peace and democracy in the war-torn country.

The official said that the western states should support the elections if they are honest in their support for democracy.
