Borrell: The European Union has failed to curb Israeli practices, and the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic

Brussels(ST)-The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, announced that the EU failed to curb Israeli practices during 2024 and prevent an increase in the number of civilian casualties in Gaza Strip.

Borrell said in a statement to reporters on Monday: “We were unable to prevent the increase in the number of civilian casualties, the humanitarian situation in Gaza from turning into a catastrophe, tensions escalating in the West Bank and the Palestinian Authority reaching the On the verge of collapse”

He added: “This failure has created an impression in public opinion that the European Union is following a policy of double standards.”

Borrell explained that the conflicts in the Middle East and the ongoing war in Ukraine were among the most prominent events during 2024.
