Ambassador Ala: Syria affirms its support for brotherly Iraq

Syria’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Hussam Eddin Ala affirmed Syria’s steadfast support for brotherly Iraq in preserving its sovereignty and lands.
Ala’s statement came during the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates to discuss ways to confront the aggressive Israeli measures and practices and escalation in the region.
Ala’s affirmed Syria’s rejection of the allegations by Israeli occupation entity to launch an aggression against Iraq.
Ala said that Syria was among the first countries to support the request of the brotherly Iraq to hold this emergency session in order to discuss the Israeli allegations and threats against Iraq.
He indicated that the Israeli threats to expand the aggression against the countries of the region are a serious reality, which confirm that the occupation entity is determined to continue the war of genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank and its ongoing barbaric aggression against brotherly Lebanon to push the region towards further escalation by intensifying its attacks on Syrian territory and expanding them to include other countries.
Ala said that the occupation entity continues its strikes on residential neighborhoods, buildings and civil service facilities in Syria – an action that led to the martyrdom of dozens of innocent civilians and the injury of hundreds, in addition to targeting the border crossings used by the displaced from Lebanon to escape the brutal Israeli aggression.
Ala pointed out that in conjunction with these attacks, the occupation forces recently dug large trenches and raised earthen berms along the ceasefire line in the northern and southern parts of the separation zone in the occupied Syrian Golan, in addition to other violations including bulldozing agricultural lands and paving roads, with the aim of creating a new reality in the region.
He indicated that Syria informed the United Nations of these measures that violate Security Council resolutions and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, and warned of their danger.
