PROVINCES,(ST)_Some 21 mortar shells have hit five urban areas in the capital and Damascus countryside, killing two civilians and wounding 25 others, according to the official news agency (SANA).
A police command source was quoted today on the agency as saying that about eight shells- fired by terrorists- hit the quarters of al-Tejara, al-Abbaseyen, al-Dwel’a and al-Qanawat in the capital [Damascus].
The mortar attacks killed a civilian in al-Tejara quarter and left a woman and two teachers wounded in al-Abaseyen and al-Qanawat quarters as well as causing widespread damages at the sites.
The two teachers were wounded when a shell landed on the surface of ‘al-Sa’adeh’ School – a private school- in al-Qanawat quarter.
Two days ago, al-Shaghour quarter in old Damascus witnessed a deadly attack as two shells-fired by terrorists- landed on the ‘Badreddin al-Hasani’ institute for Sharia Sciences.
At least 14 civilians, mostly students, were martyred and 86 others wounded by the mortar attack on the institute.

Another mortar attack took place today in Jaramana city outside Damascus where a child was martyred and 22 civilians wounded, a source at the police command declared.
Repeatedly, armed terrorist groups target the city of Jaramana and hit many innocent civilians there.
