Iranian official: Anti-Iran resolution in Third Committee of General Assembly is a political and illegitimate measure

The Iranian Foreign Ministry considered the ratification of the anti-Iran resolution in the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly under the pretext of human rights as a hypocritical act and a clear example of using human rights as a tool to achieve illegitimate political goals.

The spokesman for the ministry, Esmail Baqaei, said in a statement today, according to IRNA, that “submitting this resolution by Canada, America, Germany, Britain and a number of other Western countries, which are considered the violators of human rights and partners in the crimes of the Zionist entity in genocide of the Palestinian people, reflects the falsehood of the drafters of this resolution, and a clear sign of reducing the lofty concept of human rights to a tool for exerting political pressure against independent countries. He stressed that his country will not hesitate to take any action to protect and promote human rights.

Referring to the racist Israeli entity’s participation in drafting and approving the aforementioned resolution, Baqaei confirmed that this is a major political and moral scandal for the Western adopters of the resolution, and evidence of rendering the lofty concept of human rights worthless and emptying international institutions of their existential philosophy.
