Sabbagh and Iranian President discuss strengthening strategic Syrian-Iranian relations

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday held talks in Tehran with the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh on means of boosting bilateral relations between the two countries which enjoy strategic relations and cooperation in many fields.

Sabbagh conveyed the greetings of President Bashar Al-Assad to President Pezeshkian and his invitation to visit Syria, stressing that the joint efforts of the two countries focus on opening new horizons for cooperation that serve their interests and the interests of the countries of the region.

Sabbagh explained that the two countries face common challenges represented in the US attempts to dominate the region and seek changing its political map, stressing the need to confront these attempts to ensure the security and stability of the region.

For his part, President Pezeshkian affirmed Iran’s keenness to enhance and deepen relations with Syria in various fields, noting in this regard the importance of intensifying mutual visits between officials of the two countries to serve their common interests.

Pezeshkian also asked Sabbagh to convey his greetings to President Al-Assad, and thanked him for the invitation to visit Syria.

Sabbagh meets with Ahmadian and Velayati

Earlier, Sabbagh met with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council.

The meeting focused on cooperation and consultations on regional and international issues of common interest.

He stressed the depth of the strategic bilateral relation, affirming the need to enhance cooperation and coordination to confront the escalating Israeli aggression against several countries in the region.

For his part, Ahmadian stressed that the Zionist enemy, despite all the crimes it commits against innocent civilians, has not achieved any of its goals, rather, it suffered great losses, including economic collapse.

Moreover, Sabbagh held talks with Ali Akbar Velayati, senior advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution on international affairs. The two officials discussed ways to enhance the growing bilateral ties in all fields, the role they play at the regional and international levels, as well as their efforts to resolve the existing crises in the region.

During the meeting, Sabbagh stressed that the enemies’ plans to target our region are not new, with the enemy changing the methods of implementing those plans and using different tools to achieve them.

Velayati stressed that Syria and Iran are the two main pillars of the axis of resistance, adding that the more they strengthen their relations, the stronger this acis will become.
