Third Sabotage of Arab Gas Pipeline in Less Than Week

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The Arab gas pipeline that feeds the power stations has been targeted by armed terrorist groups for the third time in less than a week, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The latest attack took place today morning when the armed terrorist groups targeted the Arab gas pipeline near al-Mehseh area, to the south of al-Qaryaten town outside Homs.

A source at the ministry of oil and mineral resources told the agency that the sabotage attack torched the pipeline where 4 million cubic meter of gas was burnt.

“The attack would affect the process of feeding power stations in  the southern provinces: al-Nasereyeh, Tishreen and Der Ali,” the source said.

In this context, a source at the ministry of electricity declared that the terrorist attack would make residents in the southern provinces spend more hours without power.

Last Sunday, the Arab gas pipeline in Jerud area and al-Emer gas pipeline outside Damascus were targeted by armed terrorist groups just four days after they cut off the Arab gas pipeline in the same area.
