Damascus (ST) – The Omani Embassy in Damascus held a reception on Tuesday on the 54th anniversary of the Sultanate of Oman’s National Day at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.
The ceremony was attended by the Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Bouthaina Shaaban, the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, Mansour Azzam, and a number of Ministers, directors of departments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, economic, cultural and media figures, in addition to a number of heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Damascus.
In a statement to reporters, Shaaban pointed to the deep and distinguished relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, noting the Sultanate’s wise positions in support of Arab issues, including Syria, as Oman did not close its embassy during the terrorist war on Syria.
Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Habib Abbas congratulated the Sultanate on its National Day, stressing that the Syrian-Omani relations are deep-rooted and are witnessing remarkable development in all fields that serve the interests of the peoples of the two brotherly countries.
In turn, the Director of the Arab Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Riyad Abbas, expressed his hope for enhancing bilateral cooperation to achieve the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
