Pakistani aid plane lands at Damascus airport

A Pakistani humanitarian aid plane carrying 16 tons of relief, medical and food supplies arrived at Damascus International Airport  for those arriving from Lebanon to Syria as a result of the Israeli aggression.
In a statement to reporters, Pakistani Ambassador to Damascus Shahid Akhtar said: “The Pakistani  government and people, thank and appreciate the valuable efforts made by the Syrian government to help the arrivals from Lebanon.”
 “The private, semi-governmental Foundation Service Foundation is collecting humanitarian aid for the arrivals, and this batch includes a load weighing 16 tons, which is part of the total amount of medical and food aid that will be provided, amounting to 80 tons.” Ambassador Akhtar added.
Ambassador Akhtar said: “The Pakistani government always stands by its brothers in Syria and continues to provide the necessary assistance in difficult times”.
In a similar statement, Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Environment Moataz Douji indicated that this is the first shipment of a new aid package provided by the Pakistani government to support the humanitarian response efforts provided by the Syrian government to those arriving from brotherly Lebanon as a result of the Israeli aggression.
Douji added that the aid package includes relief and medical supplies and will be distributed to those arriving from “Lebanese and returning Syrians” through the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
He said he  appreciated this aid provided by Pakistan, which contributes to supporting and assisting those arriving from Lebanon as a result of the Israeli aggression.
