Syria’s team won three gold medals and two silver medals during its participation for the first time in the fourth Arab Mathematics Olympiad, which was held in Qatar.
The student Hassan Wahbi received the gold medal, while students Mohammad Naasan and Molham Ajam received two silver medals.
First mentor of mathematics at the Ministry of Education Mikael al-Hamoud, who accompanied students to the Olympics, said in a statement to SANA that the students were able to prove their abilities and skills in mathematics and win those awards despite the strong competition that existed by the participating students from 22 Arab countries.
The Olympiad, which began last Sunday and is organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar in partnership with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, concluded its activities yesterday.
