Syrian Arab Army Recaptures Ridges Outside Lattakia, Conducts Operation in Damascus Countryside

PROVINCES,(ST)_Several  ridges in the northern countryside of Lattakia have been recaptured by the army units, as decisive military operations continued in Homs old city and Damascus countryside.

A military source was quoted on the official news agency (SANA) as citing that army units, in cooperation with the national defense forces, regained control of hills 724, 1017 and 959 in the northern countryside of Lattakia in the wake of defeating armed terrorist groups there.

The hill 724 is located to the north of Point 45 [the military observatory 45 site in Kasab area], the official agency clarified, noting that army units and the national defense forces continued moving towards al-Nab’ayn Kasab.

The army units imposed full control over al-Samra town in the same province [Lattakia countryside] a day ahead of the fresh gain.

Many terrorists were killed and injured in the ongoing battles outside Lattakia and in a military operation that was carried out on the axes of al-Mliha and Jobar in Damascus countryside.

Progress in Homs old city

Concurrently, the army units imposed control over a building near St. George Church in the old city of Homs, thwarted terrorist group’s attack on a garrison at Eqirbat junction in Jabal al-Sha’er and shelled terrorist groupings and their weapons in several areas in Homs, Daraa, Aleppo and Idleb provinces.

Over 30 terrorists died and three cars equipped with heavy machineguns were destroyed during the attack on the garrison.

More terrorists were killed and injured as army units foiled infiltration bids into the quarters of Salahedin al-A’azameyeh in Aleppo province.
