Head of Syrian Delegation to Astana Meeting: Zionist entity’s Repeated attacks on Syrian lands are a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law

Astana, (ST)-Head of the Syrian delegation to the 22nd International Meeting in the Astana Format, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Raad, stressed in a press conference following the meeting: Our region is going through an extremely dangerous situation due to the Zionist entity’s aggression against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples and its repeated attacks on Syrian territories in a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

Raad added: “Friends in Russia and Iran renewed during the meeting their commitment to respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and emphasized their permanent and continuous coordination regarding issues related to resolving the crisis in Syria”.

Raad pointed out that: Syria hopes to achieve more results in the Astana process, especially in the field of combating terrorism and completely eliminating it.

He went on to say: “We stressed during the meeting the disastrous effects of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people and renewed the demand for their immediate and unconditional lifting”.

Raad stressed the need to enhance and expand early recovery projects for their important impact in restoring stability and helping the Syrian people overcome the suffering they are experiencing.

Raad pointed out that as a result of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, hundreds of thousands of Lebanese and Syrians arrived in Syria, and the Syrian state mobilized its efforts to secure their needs despite the difficult circumstances it is going through, which confirms the falsity of the malicious allegations being promoted in this regard.

Raad explained that Syria attaches importance to the Astana track, due to the results it has achieved that have contributed to preserving its unity and territorial integrity, and hopes to achieve more results, especially in the field of combating terrorism, completely eliminating terrorist groups, and liberating its land from the American and Turkish occupation. He thanked Russia and Iran of their commitment to respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for the permanent and continuous coordination regarding issues related to resolving the crisis in Syria
