Sabbagh meets his Sudanese counterpart in Riyadh

RIYADH, NOV.9, (ST)- On the sidelines of his participation in the foreign ministers’ preparatory meeting for the joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh met with his Sudanese counterpart Ali Youssef.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance them in a number of fields, in addition to the dangerous conditions in the region resulting from the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and Lebanon and its repercussions on the countries of the region, including Syria, which constitutes the main item on the agenda in the upcoming summit, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

Sabbagh pointed out that the Israeli attacks on Syria have not stopped since the start of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people on October 7 of last year, indicating the efforts made by the Syrian government to facilitate the reception and security of thousands of Syrian and Lebanese arrivals as a result of the Israeli aggression, which also included brotherly Lebanon.

For his part,  Youssef expressed his aspiration to work to advance Sudanese relations with Syria to a level that reflects the historical fraternal relations that bind the two brotherly countries, stressing his country’s support for the efforts made to stop the Israeli aggression against the countries of the region.
