Aleppo (ST)-The annual exhibition of new and used clothes, organized by the Arab Evangelical Church in Aleppo, was opened yesterday, coinciding with the arrival of winter.
The spiritual head of the Arab Evangelical Church in Aleppo, Father Ibrahim Nasser, stated that the exhibition aims to consolidate the values of giving through implementing a system from and to the community.
He noted that the number of beneficiaries of the exhibition has reached one thousand beneficiaries who receive clothes and clothing at reduced prices, so that the proceeds of the exhibition will later go to purposeful charitable programs that the church holds annually.
Exhibition coordinator Tammy Dekermanjian clarified that the exhibition is a means to encourage members of society to ease the burdens of others through giving, in addition to it being an opportunity for commercial activities to unfold .
Volunteer Rima Shukor spoke about the role of the exhibition in spreading the culture of volunteering among the youth and enhancing the societal role of the church through similar activities within the scope of constructive and comprehensive social solidarity in terms of the groups it targets.
Volunteer Maurice Bishkhanji noted the importance of the exhibition with the advent of winter in order to reach the largest number of beneficiaries in light of the current difficult economic conditions
The exhibition will last for three days and will be attended by 18 volunteers.
