Homs (ST) – The Life Skills Team in Homs organized cultural and recreational activities targeting children arriving from Lebanon( due to the Israeli aggression), within several temporary accommodation centers in cooperation with the local community.
The activities included psychosocial support sessions, group interactive movement games, and entertainment activities presented by the “Happy Magic” band with cartoon characters, competitions, and magic tricks in the Monastery of the Virgin Mary and Mar Elias in the town of Rablah, and in the Al-Mabarrah Hall in the villages of Al-Mukhtariyya, Al-Hazmiyya, and Al-Najma, and in the Land Center affiliated with the Monastery of the Jesuit Fathers.
Saba Wassouf, head of the Life Skills Team in the Homs Culture Directorate, stated that various activities were organized targeting more than 300 children and adolescents of different age groups, focusing on psychological support sessions for children and families to help them overcome the suffering they experienced as a result of the war and forced displacement.
“The Life Skills Team used various methods to achieve communication with children through play, expression, stories, music, dance, and interactive competitions, which positively reflects on their psychological well-being”, Wasouf added.
