The first conference of the General Authority for Biotechnology begins in the Assad Library in Damascus

Under the title “Promising Horizons and a New Approach to Sustainable Development and the Knowledge Economy”, the General Authority for Biotechnology launched today its first conference on biotechnology in medicinal plants, at the Assad National Library in Damascus.

Over two days, the conference participants will discuss several topics including applications of biotechnology in medicinal plants, molecular studies, nano applications, phytochemistry and drugs.

The conference will be accompanied by an exhibition of scientific posters on the conference topics.

The General Authority for Biotechnology is a public authority of a scientific nature, affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It works to bridge the technical gap in the field of biotechnology, accelerate its introduction and localization, and coordinate efforts between the institutions concerned with this research and the administrative and legislative procedures surrounding it.
