Lavrov Condemns Israeli Entity’s Crimes in Assassinating Resistance Leaders in Lebanon and Palestine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov condemned the assassination crimes committed by the Israeli entity against the political leaders of the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance, as well as senior Iranian military officers.

TASS quoted Lavrov as saying in an interview with the Turkish newspaper Hurriyat: “Russia has proposed that these actions be evaluated by the UN Security Council… But because of the obstruction of such initiatives by the western members of the council, it was not possible to achieve this,” he said.

Lavrov drew attention to the fact that the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon have caused tens of thousands of innocent victims, and “Israel” is escalating and attracting more countries to the cycle of confrontation.

The Russian minister reiterated Moscow’s demand to stop the bloodshed in the Middle East and create the necessary conditions for a ceasefire, stressing that the solution is through a political settlement on the recognized international legal basis, which includes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967.

He expressed confidence that only such a solution can ensure stable and lasting peace in the Middle East.
