In a new step towards excellence and professionalism, Bosra Al-Sham Club player Omar Al-Miqdad has made a new achievement in the Apex Championship currently being held in the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of more than 15 clubs and academies.
Al-Miqdad showed the qualities of a true champion in the 13-14 age group, as he was able to win three gold medals in the 100-meter backstroke, 50-meter backstroke, and 50-meter freestyle, and two silver medals in the 200-meter freestyle and 200-meter backstroke.
Al-Miqdad said that his Arab participations are a launch pad for him to reach the world and raise the Syrian flag in international championships, and he dreams of achieving the world championship in the future, explaining that his beginnings in Syrian clubs are what honed his talent, and it is his first starting point in swimming.
In turn, coach Ahmed Jamal confirmed that Omar is one of the fastest swimmers in this specialty, as his skills in strong movement and accuracy appeared, which reflects the diversity of his abilities in various types of swimming, as he faced strong competition from Arab and continental swimmers.
Hamed Al-Saad, President of Bosra Al-Sham Club, pointed out that Omar has a constant determination to reach advanced positions through the strenuous training he undergoes in various types of swimming pools, stressing that he is a project for a future world champion.
It is worth noting that the player recently won the Republic Championship held in Damascus last month, with two gold medals in the 100 meters and 200 meters backstroke, and participated in many Arab and local championships.
