50 companies and institutions participate in Job Gate Forum in Damascus

Damascus, (ST) – With the participation of 50 companies from various sectors, the Human Resources Foundation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and Syriatel Company, launched today the third edition of the Job Gate Forum at the Al-Bawaba Al-Sabe’a (the Seven Gates) Hotel in Damascus.

The two-day forum offers more than 750 job opportunities with various job titles and specializations, with the participation of a number of companies in the sectors of banking, communications, food and chemical industries, services, and others.

The forum also includes lectures by experts and trainers on entering the labor market and career development.

Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Anas Al-Dabash confirmed in a statement to SANA that the forum constitutes a real incentive for companies and non-governmental organizations to secure job opportunities for young people and meet the needs of the labor market in Syria, noting that the ministry is working to provide all facilities to institutions concerned with employment and training and hold forums to help young people find job opportunities that suit their academic qualifications and experiences.

Director General of the General Organization for Social Insurance Jaafar Skaf explained the importance of the forum, which brings together large companies with an extension in various Syrian governorates, noting that the organization carries out field tours of companies and establishments, with the aim of extending the insurance umbrella and preserving the interests of workers and employers.

In turn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Human Resources Foundation, Dr. Munir Abbas, pointed out that the most important feature of the forum is that it is organized by volunteers in the foundation to reach real job opportunities and to enhance the skills of job seekers by providing them with appropriate training.

He indicated that the foundation seeks with all its efforts, projects and activities to connect job seekers and new graduates with the labor market.

For his part, Tariq Al-Saadi, Director of Recruitment at Syriatel indicated that the forum is considered a real means to enhance the labor market and provide it with appropriate young experiences and skills.

He added that this forum is considered as a way to help job seekers discover the opportunities available in a large number of companies.

Taghreed Wannous, from the Sham Center for Computer Technology indicated that the center provides employment opportunities in addition to training programs that focus on developing youth skills in information technology and at the level of administrative and commercial sciences.

In turn, a number of visitors stressed the importance of the forum in facilitating access to suitable job opportunities for young people, as they are presented in one place, and the opportunities provided by companies take into account different age groups to attract and train competent persons.
