Intestinal inflammation cases increase among children in Hasakah due to the continuous cutting off drinking water by Turkish occupation

Hasakah, (ST) -The number of cases of intestinal inflammation, diarrhea and vomiting among children visiting the newly established medical center in the center of Hasakah city “Al-Lulu’a” has increased since the beginning of this month due to reliance on drinking water from an unknown source as the Turkish occupier continues to cut off drinking water from the Allouk station for more than a year.

In a statement to SANA, the Director of Health in Hasakah Dr. Issa Khalaf said that the number of children visiting the newly established medical center in Hasakah city has increased significantly since the beginning of this month, and the number of visitors is between 28 and 30 children who daily suffer from diarrhea and vomiting.

He stressed that medical measures have been taken and treatment services have been provided to them, and some of them have been receiving free treatment.

Khalaf pointed out that the main reason for the infection is the reliance on drinking water from an unknown source in the countryside and population centers far from the city center, especially in the light of the continued cutting off of drinking water by the Turkish occupier, and stopping the pumping of water from the Allouk station for more than a year.

The Director of Health called on the people not to drink water from unreliable sources and to sterilize it before using it, especially drinking water by boiling it to kill most of the microbes and germs that cause intestinal inflammation.

About one million citizens in Hasakah suffer from water cuts due to the practices of the Turkish occupation and its cutting off drinking water from Alouk station, the only source of clean water.

For more than a year, the residents have been relying on water transported via tankers and reservoirs spread throughout the streets.
