Sheikh Naim Qasim elected Secretary-General of Hezbollah
Beirut (ST)-Hezbollah announced today the appointment of Sheikh Naim Qassem as the party’s Secretary-General.
A statement by the party said: “In adherence to Hezbollah’s principles and goals, and in accordance with the approved mechanism for electing the Secretary-General, Hezbollah’s Shura Council agreed to elect Sheikh Naim Qassem as the party’s Secretary-General, carrying the blessed banner in this march.”
The statement continued: “We pledge to the spirit of our highest and most precious martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, to the martyrs and to fighters of the Lebanese resistance, and to our steadfast, patient and loyal people to work together to achieve Hezbollah’s principles and the goals of its march, and to keep the flame of resistance shining and its banner raised until victory is achieved.”
